Warm Season Grasses of Marietta

Round 1

The pre-emergence program will control numerous annual grasses. It also prevents the engagement of many broadleaf weeds. The broadleaf weed control is added to control young and late-winter weeds. Expect weed control to be slower acting during cold weather.

Round 2

This second application involves applying fertilizer that consist of a balanced rater of nitrogen and potassium to make the lawn more green and luscious. Pre-emergence is also part of the program to extend crabgrass and broadleaf weed control into the summer. Aeration is conducted at this time to promote root growth, loosen compacted soil and provide adequate water runoff. This will allow the fertilizer, air and water to reach the root zone.

Round 3

This application will consist of a slow release fertilizer, designed to provide excellent color to the turf grass. Any broadleaf weeds, pests and disease will be treated on an as required basis.

Round 4

This fertilizer application is designed to supply the lawn with the necessary nutrients for the mid-Summer droughts. Broadleaf weeds are spot treated.

Round 5

This fertilizer application is designed to supply the lawn with the necessary nutrients for the late-summer droughts. Broadleaf weeds are spot treated.

Round 6

Liquid pre and post-emergence will control early to mid-fall annual grasses with a root zone fertilizer to keep turf healthy while it begins to go dormant.

Round 7

Pre-emergence is applied to control broadleaf weeds during fall and winter.

Round 8

Lime is applied to balance soil PH. All grassy and broadleaf weeds are sprayed at this time.

Cool Season Grasses of Marietta

Round 1

The pre-emergence program will control numerous annual grasses as well as preventing the engagement of most broadleaf weeds. The broadleaf weed control is then added to control young and late-winter weeds. Weed control will be slower acting during the colder weather.

Round 2

The fertilizer application will help maintain the lawn’s green color while keeping the top growth to a minimum. This application will prepare the lawn for the summer months. The pre-emergence program will be applied again.

Round 3

Liquid Iron will be applied to maintain color of turf during warmer months. The summer can sometimes bring stresses to fescue which can be confusing. Drought symptoms can be mistaken for disease or insect damage. One of the most difficult diseases to control is Brown Patch. If detected, there may be an extra charge for service. An easy method to control Brown Patch will be watering early in the morning.

Round 4

Micronutrients fertilizer is applied to help keep fescue strong during the hot summer months and to prepare soil for over seeding.

Round 5

Lime is applied to balance soils PH. All grassy and broadleaf weeds are sprayed at this time

Round 6

The fertilizer is designed to help turf grass recover from summer stress. Aeration needs to be conducted at this time to improve root growth, loosen compacted soil and provide adequate run off. This allows lime, fertilizer, seeds and water to reach the root zone. Weed control will not be added.

Round 7 & 8

Root zone fertilizer and high rate of nitrogen to provide the correct amount of nutrients needed for grass over the winter months.
